The Kool Haus was packed to the brim with mostly giddy young kids waiting for the imminent arrival of Edward Sharpe, better known as Alex Ebert, who took the name after reading a book about the messianic figure. The band formed haphazardly when Alex met Jade Castrinos in California. They brought along a colorful cast of characters to help them out. The show was being recorded which made getting through the crowd just a tad more strenuous as there wasn’t a pit and it was jam packed upfront. Alex and the gang put on an eclectic, animated performance as part of their performance depends largely on crowd participation. “Here” is their 2nd album which will be released at the end of May.
